Local parks:

Central Park, downtown.
Central fountain, restrooms, picnic tables, free municipal band concert on Wednesday evenings and the farmer's market 5-8 p.m., Thursdays, May-October.

Kewash Park, off west main street.
A 13.8 mile rails-to-trails crushed limestone trail between Washington and Keota. Daily passes: $1, annual passes: $5.

Sunset Park, W. Madison St.
municipal swimming pool, tennis, basketball courts and playground equipment.

Local tourist attractions
Conger House Museum

Built in 1847, features late 1800s period rooms of the Conger family. Also contains displays of Washington County history, war memorabilia, medical history, pioneer kitchens and American Indian artifacts. Hours: 1-5 Sun., June-Aug.; first two weekends in Dec.; by appointment
