Opened
in 1959, South East is for 7th and 8th graders from the
east side of Iowa City. The school's mascot is the Hawkettes.
A library/classroom addition was added in 1981 and in 1995,
seven more classrooms, new music rooms and expanded P.E.
facilities were added.
