OXFORD
Located
ten miles west of Iowa City between Highway 6 and Interstate
80, Oxford was incorporated in 1868. It has maintained
many of its original buildings. President Harry S Truman
stopped in Oxford during a tour in 1948. Annual tourist
attractions include the Memorial Day Parade, the Fourth
of July Parade, and the Greencastle Tractor Pull in August.
It is home to the Clear Creek Amana High School softball
team, one of the best small-school teams in the state.
